I bought a log branded Harambe Strength and it weighs 80 pounds empty. This is a good weight for me as I am typically training in 80 to 120 pound space. Any heavier than that and I am looking at singles. It is a 12" log which really gets the weight in front of you. I dinged it on build quality as the edges could have been cleaned up better. There are plenty of aftermarket solutions to improve the edges.

Discontinued brand that I can not even find existing on Amazon anymore. One of my first investments before I knew better... To not get an 8" log 🤦🏼

This is a custom log from Alan Christ (sells on FBMP in NY/PA. He makes an awesome product. It’s gorgeous, feels great and has been very durable so far. I’m a huge fan. He polys them so thick that the finish feels amazing.

FBMP find that was a custom job. It was built off the Beast Metals log. It was left a bit rusty and I cleaned it up and made it my own. So far I have used it a few times and love how it feels. Balanced and no problems!

During COVID, I went out to my dad's house and cut down a tree to make a wooden log. I removed the bark, rough-sanded it, cut out a place for the handles, made handles from pipe, tied rope to the ends, and added grip tape to the center.

A member made our log out of 12" pipe. Until doing competitions it was the only one I had ever used, so wasn't sure if ours was good or bad. I can only compare it to a Pitbull 12", and the only difference I could tell was the tape used on the Pitbull to make the clean easier, even the weight was the same. Hands down everyone's favorite implement to use, it leaves a bruise on your arms from cleaning it, but it's strongman, deal with it. I've added tape to the center of our log now that I know what I've been missing. My guy gets 5 stars.

This was hand made by Gary Kirwan in Ireland, one of few metal fabractors to make strongman equipment in Ireland, multiple records set and an A&E visit to attribute to lifting this

I got to use Big Cams log and it was super fun. He says it’s a custom 12” Valkyrie log. I was able to hoist it a few more times than I thought I could.

I made my 12” log with 12” x 10ga. Tube and 3/16” plate steel. Handles are 1-5/8” diameter pipe and loading sleeves are 2” diameter pipe. Log is 57-1/2” long with 11” of loadable sleeve length on each end making it 79-1/2” long overall. Empty log weight is right at 120lbs. If someone is interested in making one similar I could provide further specs if necessary but I think what’s fun about fabricating your own strongman equipment is you can make it however you want! ETA: I think the paint type should have been smooth on the outer part. It’s too rough and catches easily. Maybe that’s personal preference and could become an advantage if you plan for it in your clean. Definitely a tough scrape to the chin with the texture paint. We maybe could add a clear finish to change if wanted. Jennilee
