Urethane Plates

Urethane Plates

Rogue’s color-coded Urethane LB Bumpers are molded from top quality, high durometer urethane—ideal for producing a consistent dead bounce on the drop and maintaining the long-term integrity of the plate. The design of the single-piece, 140MM hard chrome insert also allows for easy loading on the bar with reduced friction on the sleeves. For a combination of performance and durability, few bumpers in the industry can rival these. Rogue Urethane Plates are sold in pairs or in full sets, and include weight increments of 10LB, 25LB, 35LB, 45LB, and 55LB. Each plate includes original Rogue branding in black with numerical weight callouts in gray.* All marking are color-molded into the bumper for a great look that won’t fade over time.

These are NOT worth the cost. They are good build quality, not great though. I do miss the drippy rubber of a traditional bumper plate. They don't sound less noisy when I drop them. My biggest issue with them is I CAN'T store them in my shelf rack because they constantly slide down, it's really annoying, I don't want to have a weight pin for 10s, so I keep these plates in my closet.

Expensive but great quality, no issues with noise. I’m sure they will outlast me.

When I first started my gym, I played around with a lot of weight plates. I decided on thinner profile bumpers and Strength Co. irons after a time. And I did this merry-go-round with bumpers. At one point, I got in a set of Rogue urethanes because I wanted to cut down on the smell of the bumpers that I had been moving in and out. Let me tell you something. Listen here, because it is crucial to your sanity. Stay the hell away from these if you have ribbed sleeves on your barbell. You know that sound of fingernails on a chalkboard. This sound makes that sound sound quiet and mild. I don't understand why any company that ribs their barbell collars would then go ahead and sell a plate that has ribbed inserts. That's bananas. But they don't smell at all. So there's you tradeoff.
