Vulcan V-Lock Change Plates

Vulcan V-Lock Change Plates

Solid rubber without any steel inserts or iron core is what differentiates the V-lock change plate. They are precision weighed, balanced and molded to fit tightly on the barbell and closely together. They are practically indestructible when used correctly and carry a 7 year warranty. Unsightly rust, peeling, and bar damage are things of the past once you switch over to these high performance and good looking plates.

As the fine folks at Vulcan love reviewing reviews… These are the most perfectly perfect plates and I wish I could give them more stars but it only goes to 5 so hopefully that’ll be enough keep this review from going to trial.

I got these pre-Covid and pre-Gluckgate. They’re the widest diameter change plates I’ve ever seen in my life, bordering on the absurd. But for all of that, they’re also a really quality product, virgin rubber or whatever it is that they are. I keep them on my RH and have other options I prefer because they are hella tight on my bars.

At the time of purchase, 2017, there were not any change plates, in pounds, made entirely of rubber. And they're awesome: weighing what they should and staying mostly in place without a collar. I like them so much, I bought two more sets in 2023. Unfortunately, they don't appear to make these anymore (and Vulcan eroded what standing it had in the home gym community) but if you find them used? Go for it.
