I built the Kaizen DIY toaster rack from his YouTube video. It’s simple and effective. It keeps my plates organized and fits perfectly in an otherwise random section of my gym. Solid for what it is and customizable to fit your plates exactly.

There's just something about DIY pieces that someone else made decades ago. I got this tree with some vintage York plates, and it's like it all came out of a high school that hadn't upgraded their gym since the early 90s. Still going strong and doing its job.

One of many bought second hand. Love using these with the smaller pins instead of ones that the pins are almost as tight as a barbell.

My DYI is more of wall tree for plates. Used plumbing pipe from Amazon and Home Depot. Used a couple of different configurations depending plate thickness for each pair. Pipe bracket, pipe, and cap used was 1/2” or 3/4” in diameter and 2” or 2 1/2” in length. Since I built this, it’s 5 stars across the board.

I bought this for $20 from an old lifter who was selling off his home gym. It is a custom fabricated A-frame weight tree that has a good deal of heft. I'm not sure about its origin or who made it. If it had an insignia, it probably would read: "made in the USA when it was a proper country."

Not weight tree, but DIY bumper plate storage, with the addition of sand bag and power blocks storage. I probably spent more in material than what you could buy a basic toaster style storage system for, but the specificity to my needs is unmatched. Knocked a few stars for build quality. 3/10 craftsmanship at best.... but I tried hard.

Use this for several years and it worked great for my plates. No longer needed it anymore so I sold it on Facebook marketplace.

Bought it from a company that no longer exists. When they made it they didn’t think about the weight being on the front of the unit. It falls over when full, so I put some kettlebells on the back.
