These are nice in the fact that you if have an accident and dump a nice bar, you likely wont damage it. However their main purpose seems to be just for safety. You can't really use them for pin presses, pin squats, or rack pulls too well as apposed to straight metal bar spotting racks. Also if you need to move them anymore than like 5 spaces each it's tricky to do. You either have to make your arms wide and do both at the same time, or do each one 5 or so at a time
