These were a style purchase for me. The build quality is excellent, the magnetic strength is better than the selector pins that came with my Inspire FT2, but these function no better or no worse than the stock pins.

I got these as a stocking stuffer from my wife for Christmas. They well made and secure. They go on and off barbell sleeve easily but you still need two hands to tighten (one to hold sleeve from spinning). I use them with urethane coated REP Equalizer plates and find that they do not scuff my plates as another reviewer mentioned. They hold better than my Eleiko Oppen collars but not as good as my Rogue aluminum collars.

Abmat’s durability and design shine here. I’ve had this in use for 6 years now and it looks brand new - and so does my sacrum a butt crack! I think this is the way to go vs. other smaller Abmat.

This suited my needs perfectly. I wanted a configurable, “skinny” platform for deadlifts. The 2” rubber tiles are perfect for cushioning heavy weight. If they included thin steel “straps” that would run under the rubber tiles and engage frame from front to back, so that the frame would then be secured down while using bands on the band attachments, then this would get 5 stars for build. As it stands, you can’t use the optional band attachments because it lifts the platform frame.

These fit my 5.11 vest perfectly, which I also purchased from Rogue. The plates are well made and contoured nicely. They feel comfortable to me. There are cheaper options out there - but I had a Rogue gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket lol!

Stray Dog makes high quality pieces and these ISO Cups fall right in line. They are so easily set up and work in any push pull direction. Cal Dietz and Will Ratelle would be the top two resources when looking into ISO training. Will Ratelle has a whole setup from Stray Dog and does a great job not only showing setup but how he incorporates them into his training as well. The only knock I can give them is that they are a bit pricey for what they are, but when you compare them to, let’s say a decent J-Cup, the price then becomes more reasonable in that perspective.

There are only about 30 of these out in the wild now (because Rogue slapped a “Cease & Desist” on Powertec) I was very lucky to get in early. Some specs and general info on the Powertec: Overall weight of unit is 364lbs. Its depth and width and height are 55"x 54" (including fixed handles) × 69". Platform dimensions are deeper than Rogue's at 3 feet by 4 feet and it is the perfect size for a 4'x3' horse stall mat to sit on with the need for only a few center cuts to expose platform pulley area. The frame utilizes a combination of 11, 7, and 3 gauge steel, so it is even more robust than the Rogue Rhino even though its overall weight is less (since it doesn't incorporate front extension feet and flanking uprights, like the rhino and the center trolley column is shorter). The carriage/trolley weighs 35lbs and functions very smoothly. It has been tested for over 100,000 cycles, so saying that it is durable is a massive understatement. I've read that over time, with break-in, that the Rogue Rhino gets even smoother and smoother with its pull feel and the same has been true for this unit becoming buttery smooth. The max trolley capacity is 600lbs. The weight horns are 10” long. When I am loading the belt squat up heavier, I just use my ATX Steel Competition Plates and the horns provide sufficient room to get to the max load and beyond. The reason I went Powertec and not Rogue: • the incorporation of a safety-pin • the superior trolley locking mechanism over the Rhino • the very wide range of lockable positions for trolley hook (ease of set up for all types of exercises and ease of getting into and out of belt on the ground, while still being at the perfect level to start any exercise) • the larger platform (better for setup of split squats, Bulgarian squats, using Dune Sand Stepper, box squats) • the fixed handles vs. handle posts that tip I modded mine by adding weight horns, Mutant Metals side facing handles and JD knurled trolley grips.

For those that love Stainless Steel, Knurling, and Landmine exercises look no further. Jesse at JD Gym Equipped makes some excellent pieces and his landmine handle is certainly one of the many. I got the 8" long version with the more aggressive knurling option, as well as the 1.33" diameter as opposed to the 1.25" diameter. I lined it with UHMW tape to protect the sleeve of my barbell because I don't own a beater bar to use just for landmine exercises. Feels awesome in hand and knurling is medium like a Rogue Ohio Power Bar, but the pattern is less dense - larger width to "mountains". He offers a sleeve insert that I think would be worth picking up to protect the sleeve finish on your barbell if you are not using a beater bar for your landmine work.
