My y2 is cut down to be between the size of a y2 and y1. I love this thing. I think the y1 is too short and the y2 is too tall to easily fit out most garage doors. Get the y2 and chop it down. I used this as my rack for years and loved it. I have a more traditional rack now, but I may have liked using the y2 for a rack more than anything else. Feels quality and easy to adjust. If you get this, also get the spotter arms so you can use it as a rack or a spare rack.

The SOS may often be considered the flag ship product of MBPC, but I think this is truly the standout piece. Incredibly sturdy. Feels mostly like a keg (a really nice one). Not too much of a pain to change weights. It’s realistic to make multiple weight changes on this in one workout and not take up an annoying amount of time and effort. If you had a bunch of space I’d say getting normal kegs would be better, but moderate to low space gyms would benefit from just having one of these for kegs. You can load this heavier than you will ever lift. Biggest complaint is the weight horn is too thick and won’t take tight tolerance machined plates. You need sloppy loose plates to fit. Strongman gyms typically have those, but a home gym spending over 1K on a keg might only have machined plates. Just be ready to figure it out.

I got this off FBMP from a guy who had a local fabricator who was making a handful of strongman implements. 12” CDB with 3” handle. 102 LBs empty. $250 (used). Not sure what they charged new. This thing is a monster. Training on a 3” handle is such a good way to train. Makes any 2.5 inch cake. I’ve had a couple bad drops with this and 1 really bad drop. Didn’t dent the dumbbell one bit. Video on my instagram of that drop and it’s incredible it didn’t dent the thing. Wish I knew the fabricator. They should be making more bells!

The price might catch you off guard on these, but these are truly worth it. Ab mat attention to detail and use of quality materials makes something as simple as a crash pad a nice experience. The foam catches the log and doesn’t bounce much at all. You can drop from overhead with confidence and little need to match where it’s going. I also use these for my CDB and they work well for that as well.

These create a very secure frame out of the Titan farmers handles. Though it is very secure, getting these installed can be a bit of a pain due to having to find the correct hole spacing and lining up both handles. It’s not a huge deal, but it isn’t seamless either. Personally I’d recommend getting their handles and the MBPC frame attachment. It’s not only easier to set up, but will give you options for standard and wide frame. Both come up in comps so having both will be a bonus.

I am a big fan of the quality and materials for freedom strength bags and these are right up there with that. The handle has a wrapped texture to it which helps with a secure grip. Probably my favorite throw bags on the market.

This is was a big innovation in strongman equipment in my opinion. I really like the SOS for home gym owners. Having a compact space, it would be challenging to have a range of stones to use for training. That being said, using it without tacky is a very difficult workout that isn’t exactly like training normal stones with tacky. I don’t recommend using tacky with this as it will begin to pull the paint off. That is not a negative against the product as they are clear about its use intentions. The first time you change weight you are in for a humbling experience to get the 2 hemispheres to line up. Getting them locked in is very difficult, but you will get better at it over time. You will be able to load this thing up with more weight than anyone can lift so it will not be something you outgrow. That being said, if you have the space, I’d recommend getting some stones instead. This thing is just crazy expensive. For good reason, but it just puts it at a price point I can’t recommend unless you couldn’t train stones without it. Also, it does not fit any of my rogue machined plates. The tolerance on the horn is too tight. You’ll need plates with a larger hole. tolerance

Great quality handle and bag. Easy to fill to desired weight. Weight distribution is good and stays tightly closed. If you throw outside and it’s hitting concrete it will start to chew up the handle. The bag itself has had no issues. My handle is no where near needing replaced, but I do have concerns about one day that being an issue. Won’t be for years, but just be mindful that it may be something you have to address one day.
