I have tried a few different mono attachments and these are the first ones that mostly work. What I mean by that is that monos have the connotation to be used for squats. Other monos are absolutely useless for squats in my opinion unless you squat high bar and are going almost perfectly up and down in your stance. These are more serviceable for low bar squats, but not perfect. For that reason I don’t use them for squats and just use them for press. Now press is where these excel. Other monos work okay for press, but these work great. I have never had an issue with clipping the lip on these. They do help with a hand off style press, but I find that they are best for incline press. You can truly press up and back without any thought that you may hit the cup lip. I have not gotten to use the mutant metals monos, but I do hear that they figured this problem out a long time ago so those may be a better pick. I have not used them so I can’t say. I like how those look more and like the company more is all I can say. Back to this product though, I truly think these are a must have for being able to focus on your incline press. That is the most common barbell type press I have been doing since I train for strongman.
