After enduring a kidney transplant, I knew my life would never be the same — but I also knew I wasn’t going to give up on myself. At 62 years old, I made the decision to fight for my health, my strength, and my future. My journey back started small, with nothing more than a pair of 8-pound dumbbells and the determination to rebuild both my body and my mindset one day at a time. There were moments when progress felt slow, but every workout became proof that I was stronger than the obstacles placed in front of me. What began as simple recovery slowly turned into a passion for fitness, discipline, and personal growth. Over time, those small weights turned into serious training, and the gym became more than exercise — it became therapy, purpose, and a reminder of how far I had come. Today, fitness is part of who I am. My story isn’t about perfection; it’s about resilience, gratitude, and refusing to let setbacks define me. I started with 8-pound dumbbells at 62 years old… and I never looked back.
