I made a Rogue Rhino style belt squat that pairs with my lat pull down low row machine. I built a platform with a pulley in the middle and a channel for the cable that runs to the low row pulley. I also added a thick J bolt (also a DIY, just a U bolt with one leg partially cut off) that slides in and out of the lat pull down upright and catches the weight trolley in an elevated position. Using the J bolt I can start and finish the set in a standing position and getting a full ROM on depth without bottoming out.

You can go as simple or as boujie as you want with a DIY axle. Just a 1.5” pipe is technically all you need. You can spray paint or powder coat it. You can make collars out of duct tape, clamp on fittings, or welded rings. You can make the usual knurl mark spacing or leave it bare. It can be an easy little DIY but it’s also often nearly as cheap to buy an import from Titan or others on sale

These mats are thick but rugged, smooth (on one side) and not easy to grip, and vulcanized for durability and to look great in your gym. This is THE generation of American rubber, available at TSC

It’s a nice slam ball. I have a 45lb ball that’s more inline for cardio for myself. I’d like a 100-150 for more strength style movements but at that price and size I would be better off with a sandbag. I also have a 10lb ball that my toddler loves to pick up and drop

I got this jump rope used with a box of other gym equipment, it was clearly well used already but it still has plenty of life left in it. The rope length is adjustable and the bearings in the handle spin smooth.

I got the equivalent of an Echo bar in Rogue’s grab bag bar they did during Covid. Mine came in blue cerakote with chrome sleeves. The knurling is pretty passive and there’s only one set of rings at Olympic spacing (not powerlifting). Mine was a great deal with the grab bag but if I wanted something more similar to this new I would recommend getting an Ohio Power or other brand’s equivalent multipurpose bar.

These might be the oldest pieces of equipment in my gym since I’ve had them for years before even starting my gym. They’re well over 10 years old and still going strong with light to moderate usage.

I only have a pair of the 1.25lb plates myself but I have used a full set at other gyms up to their classic 45 pounders and hundos. Very high quality plates, classic design, American made. You can’t ask for much more than that! If I ever had to start my gym over and not outfit it with my vintage Yorks, I would go to the Strength Co for sure.
