Got this before all the knockoffs became available. I don’t know what more you could want out of it. It’s a simple attachment and works great for what it does.

I’ve had quite a few adjustable benches and this is by far my favorite. Integrates great with other Prime equipment but as a standalone bench it’s fantastic. Build quality is definitely above the benches I had from Rep. Adjusting is easy, moving it around is easy, the pad is soft enough to be comfortable but not too soft that I feel like it hurts my lifts. Some people don’t like how skinny the pad is but I feel more stable benching on this than other, wider adjustable benches. Would probably get the shorty version now for some more versatility but I’ve never used that one so I don’t know how well it performs as just a regular bench too.

Technically mine is a cobbled together version that started life as a RML-490, turned into a 6 post rack, and now a half rack. The half rack is my favorite version. Love how compact it is while still having weight storage and the spotter arms are my favorite safety version with how easy they are to move. Moving bars into/out of place is so easy because you don’t have to deal with getting them inside the rack is great. It does shift a bit on heavy reracks if it’s not bolted down but it’s minor and not a big deal in my opinion. Half rack crü

Powerblocks were the best adjustable dumbbell out there for quick adjustability and solid build quality before the home gym boom that led to all sorts of new options. I still love these things and use them constantly. For the price, they are fantastic. Only downside is the shape can make some dumbbell movements, like pullovers, difficult or not really possible. I find these to be few and far in between so I don’t feel like I’d ever bother replacing them. They can have some rattle to them but are you lifting in a library? Crank up the tunes and don’t worry about it. Adjusting them is super simple and even the smaller adder plates are fast to add/remove. I got these originally because I had Ironmasters and they are a pain to adjust. Started with just the 50lb version and quickly got the upgrade kits to go up to 90lbs and only touch my Ironmasters when I need anything above 90lbs. The other issue is these definitely weigh less than the stated amount. When going from 90lbs with these to 95lbs with my Ironmasters it’s really more like going from 88lbs to 95lbs. Doesn’t really matter if you’re only using the Powerblocks since it’s all relative. Are there better options now? Probably, but these are still a great value.

Love these plates so much. They look awesome and are so easy to move around with the holes. Can also use for random movements easily since they are easy to grab so a front plate raise is great. Only reason I took a star off from build quality is because they are cast, the round edges have noticeable imperfections that I didn’t notice in pictures prior to buying. They don’t make the plates worse by any means, but you’re not going to get that perfectly milled look. Would definitely get these again if starting over.

You get a lot of versatility in this piece in a fairly compact form. Cables couldn’t be smoother and the 350lb weight stack is heavy enough for most people for the rest of their lifting days. Plates have 20lb jumps and I’m not sure why they didn’t add three 5lb adder weights like they did with their functional trainer. There is a band peg and I just use that with 3 5lb plates from my Ironmaster dumbbells to add incremental weight. They work better than regular plates because they are so thin and 1” holes are big enough. The lat pulldown is 1:1 and the adjustable column is 2:1 so you can take advantage of that big weight stack. Adjustable column is 3x3 with 1” holes, which is nice for accessories but it would be better if all the posts were like that. Specifically the legs. They have 1” holes on the top for storing the accessories but if they had them on the side too, you could use them for even more. Accessories are expensive and not the best, unless they’ve made some changes. The low row foot plate is solid but a bit cumbersome and if they had a built in footplate to do low rows sitting on the ground, that would be better to me, though some don’t like that and prefer a bench setup. The lat pulldown seat works well but has a lot of play and they probably could have built it to attach more solidly. Still, it doesn’t prevent you from doing lat pulldowns in any way and is more of a minor annoyance but for the price, I expect those minor annoyances to not exist. If you have a functional trainer, the adjustable column is less useful except for the large weight stack. I still use it because it’s nice to just have multiple things set up at all times. If doing it again, I’d probably just get a lat pulldown/low row without the adjustable column and try to find a more compact option. It fits in a corner well but my setup doesn’t have many useable corners so it still sticks out a bit.

Probably the best plate loaded leg extension/curl combo out there but it’s not without its flaws and the price point is definitely premium compared to what you can find now. The adjustability and smoothness is top notch, it feels incredible for both leg extensions and curls. Being able to adjust the strength curve is cool and can be nice but is really probably not worth the premium for the average lifter. The star taken away from build quality is from the back pad. They could have added something to keep that post in place more but it wobbles a bit in use, most noticeable during leg curls. It doesn’t really take away from the movement, but it is a bit annoying to have it move around when you’re using it, especially with a piece this premium. Value is two stars because you can get close enough for way less money now. When I got this you had the choice between really cheap home gym versions or commercial grade. The middle ground has been filled nicely and I would recommend getting something else for most people.

The Prime functional trainer is basically as good as it gets in the functional trainer world. The only reason it wasn’t five stars across the board is due to the price, it is not cheap. However, the performance and build quality are absolutely top of the line and it is one of the most versatile pieces of equipment out there. The things that stand it apart from the broader FT market are the adjustable arms, that you can configure for almost anything you’d do with a cable machine, how incredibly smooth it is (aluminum pulleys not required, IYKYK), the simple design that makes removing the weight stacks easy if you need to move this behemoth, and the optional bench centering device that I consider an absolute must. Talking about the bench centering device, it is an optional add on that extends out from the FT with many possible adjustment points, and will anchor to a Prime bench. This makes any cable exercise with a bench that much better because you don’t have to worry about lining it up, or the bench moving from the weight being moved. Something like chest supported rows or cable chest press are possible without the bench moving under the hardest of reps. This allows you to replicate so many standalone cable machines you see in commercial gyms. Other notes, the arms adjust with zero effort and feel weightless due to the counterweights and how smooth every moving part is. The range of adjustability is huge and as someone with a 6’4” wingspan, cable flies are easily done with no limitations to range of motion. The dual weight stakes go up to 265lbs with the three 5lb added weights built in so you can make 5lb jumps, and it is a 2:1 ratio. It is shipped fully assembled with an immaculate packing job to protect it. Be warned, it weighs around 1000lbs and is not easy to move unless you take the stacks off and bolt some 5” heavy duty casters to the frame to roll it (a must if going any sort of distance).
