I think there is probably better half rack options out there for the price, but I was fairly limited by height options and my lady wanting a half rack. So I built out one of these with an extra crossmember in the middle (highly recommended for stopping any wobbliness, but removes some of the value proposition), and some weight storage pegs. I would recommend getting an impact driver or something similar to build this in order to really reduce any sort of shake this might have. If I ever get more height clearance, this is probably going to be one of the first things that goes in the gym.

After owning these for 5 years and submitting them to all kinds of pulls and drops, I have had zero issues with them breaking apart or cracking. They are not very bouncy but my basement floors are still in one piece.

The knurling hurts, the plates don't really like to slide on to the bar, and it feels a bit narrow at times. However, if you can get this at a "how is anyone making a profit off of this?" price on Amazon, shipped and delivered, then it works fine. I bought it while rehabbing a lower back injury and it worked fine for a few weeks, but if you were doing trap bar DLs as a primary movement then it is worth spending the money on a proper bar.

Value is relative to the deal you can get, as I was able to get these + a stand for $450 from FMB. However, I would agree with most of the criticisms about the clunkiness of these as you go up in weight, as they can get awkward to do movements like OHP once you get into the 70s. However, they are still quite a bit cheaper than a full DB set and are very simple in terms of their build making DIY upgrades and maintenance a lot easier
