Started powerlifting later in life and built a real passion for it. Focused on getting stronger every year, with deadlifts at the center and a consistent, disciplined approach to training. I train most days in my Berard Steel home gym—a build that came together through patience, growing knowledge, and perseverance, and now takes up almost the entire garage space (1+2). The goal is simple: keep progressing, stay healthy, and prove that strength has no age limit.

I didn’t buy my REP ADONIS expecting it to compete with full commercial cable stacks. I bought it to add versatility to a serious strength setup. What I got instead was a machine that punches well above its weight. The footprint is compact, but the functionality is not. For a single-stack system, the range of movements you can unlock is impressive—rows, pushdowns, curls, lateral work, even creative chest variations if you know how to position yourself. Paired with the right attachments (my REP x Kleva bundle gets a lot of use as well as the MAG’s) it becomes a legitimate accessory powerhouse.

The Texas Deadlift Bar is not a “special occasion” bar—it’s just my deadlift bar. The whip is what makes it addictive. You feel the tension load before the plates even break the floor, giving you time to lock in and stay tight where it counts. Once you adapt to it, going back to a stiff bar feels like a step backward. No question. The knurling is exactly right—aggressive, controlled, and built to hold under real weight. It won’t tear your hands apart, but it won’t let you off easy either. You’ll know you pulled. This is a specialized bar. That’s the point. If deadlifting matters, you stop pretending one bar does it all. This one does its job—and it does it well. Bottom line: Not a showpiece. A working tool. Used, not stored. And once you get used to it, there’s no going back.

The Weight It Out White Iron Plates are not just about looks—they’re seriously well made. The casting is clean, the weight tolerance feels tight, and they have that dense, solid iron feel you want when loading heavy. They sit well on the bar, no wobble, no cheap edges—just quality you can feel immediately. The white finish takes the aesthetic to another level, especially against a black setup—but it will pick up dings and nicks faster than darker plates. Still, underneath that finish is a high-quality plate built to be used. Strong, precise, and worth it.

The Rogue 3X Aggro Power Bar is built for lifters who don’t compromise. Brutally aggressive knurling—sharp, consistent, and locked in on every heavy rep. The stainless steel adds a raw feel with reliable grip and durability. No comfort, no shortcuts—just control and precision under load. Aggressive, clean, elite. I love mine.

My most expected acquisition recently, the American Barbell Il Padrino is a serious deadlift bar that feels purpose-built from the first pull. The extra whip gives you a smooth break off the floor, especially as the weight gets heavy, and the knurling is aggressive enough to lock in your grip without being overly harsh. It’s extremely solid, with a premium feel and plenty of sleeve length for heavy loading. This isn’t a general-use bar—it’s a specialized tool for pulling big weight. If deadlift performance is a priority, the Il Padrino delivers exactly what you want, and the craftsmanship is flawless.
