I have the slightly older model than the one pictured. Got it on marketplace for $600 which makes the value of this well above any other home gym shoulder press. I wouldn’t have this as my primary or only shoulder press but the rotary handles and many adjustments of the handle width as well as seat height make this machine very functional as well as a unique and awesome feel. Great contraction and squeeze on the top of the movement and very comfortable. Weight can feel a little light on this one until you get up higher in the stack so it’s great for strong lifters as well as less experienced people or people with shoulder issues due to the adjustable and rotation of the handles not keeping your wrists locked in position like most shoulder presses. Love this machine and all of the Paramount Rotary line. Easy to dissemble and move into a basement gym as well.

I picked up an older version of the Icarian on marketplace for around $700. At that price it beats any of the home gym companies on value, performance, quality and it’s just a lot cooler because Icarian is awesome. Love the feel of this machine, 200 pound stack, built very well, can be dissassembled and moved into any room or basement if you want (which is what I did). I wouldn’t mind a few more grip options but other than that this is one of my favorite shoulder presses. Definitely better than the newer Life Fitness and other models that I commonly see in gyms today, slightly angled back pad really helps the feel of the movement as well.

Good change plates, had them for years still in great shape. Would recommended buying used over new.

I have the older version which is built like a tank and could probably survive a nuclear detonation. Love the curved footplates for this movement and adjustability of the machine. As a short bodybuilder a lot of seated calf machines don’t fit me well at all and I can’t get any stretch in the bottom without the knee pads moving too far on my knees or just running out of travel with my short legs. Not a problem with this Hoist. My favorite plate loaded seated calf of all-time. Picked this one up on marketplace for $200 so it was a no-brainer.

Comfortable pad that can be used for lots of stuff. Not a fan for hip thrusts with any real weight but I have a dedicated Matrix Glute Drive so this is not a good comparison. Definitely recommend over one of these Velcro roller pads or other cheaper options.

Built like a tank, very comfortable on the knees for leg extensions, seated curls are also highly effective. Tons of adjustment so you can get good stretch on extensions and curls (not quite as much stretch as on the Flex Fitness Hamtractor but that’s the GOAT and not a combo machine). If you’re looking for a combo machine you can pick one of these up sometimes for not much more than the selectorized Titan and other home gym focused brands and the build quality and function will outperform those other brands. As with most Hoist products it can be dissassembled enough to get down into any basement gym.

It’s a chalk bowl. Not really much else to say. I don’t use chalk anymore so it holds cleaning towels and some belts.

Great for dumbbell work. I like to use them for hammer curls and some pressing movements.
