DB-15 Loadable Dumbbell - Stainless

The stainless steel Rogue DB-15 Loadable Dumbbells are a really well built and a solid piece of equipment to add to a home gym. This type of adjustable dumbbell works as an alternative to dumbbells but I wouldn't say it's a 1 for 1 replacement of traditional dumbbells. I use these handles primarily for rows, lunging movements, and single arm shoulder press. If you can find a used pair of DB-15s the value is better but I'm not sure I would recommend buying brand new.

I don’t like loadable dumbbells. They’re stupid. It takes forever to add weights and it is only really suitable for single arm work. So I sold my other one of these and kept one and rarely use it. Expensive paperweight.

Had a pair of these and they sat in the corner and never got used. Not a good investment for a commercial gym

I picked up a pair for our early days as COVID set in, and I convinced myself that they were the answer. They weren’t, and have the same challenges any “loadable” dumbbell has so no use rehashing that. That said, if you want DB’s, have Olympic plates, these could be a good pic. I knew a guy with a “cheapo” pair that we bent pretty quick and these always performed well for me. But as we grew space and equipment they slowly just became an eye candy piece so it was time to move on from them

Overall wasn’t impressed with these and are way too overpriced just for one of them. Really only useful for heavy rows and curls

Had these for while. Made well and solid. Loadind the plates weren’t that bad, I just found out that the collars are just too long. Depending on the movements like dumbbell bench press and Home press, they were hitting each other far too soon. How much prefer something like the Strength Co mini barbell 12s which were about the perfect length about 3 inches shorter

Great quality dumbbell that works with the olympic plates I already own. Price is still steep for what it is especially with all the adjustable being released. Buy second hand or boneyard. They work great when loaded but I find myself typically loading one if I can get away with it to save time. Also buy the abmat dumbbell cushion because these will dig into your legs.

All the downsides of a loadable dumbbell handle- having said that, the quality of these is extremely high, just like having a tiny barbell in each hand. I use these when i need to go to a heavier weight than my fixed set up to 50, which right now is fairly rare since i generally stick to barbell exercises at heavier weights. So loading them up once in a while is not a big deal. The space and money i save by not getting more fixed DBs or an adjustable pair is worth it for me since these do feel incredibly nice in use. I wouldn't recommend loadables as your only pair of dumbbells though.

Same superb quality as their barbells. I use these with Rogue’s dumbbell bumpers for a few CF WODs, and also for presses where I need heavier weight than my 100 adjustable dumbbells can go. These are just not a good primary dumbbell for interchangeability, not convenient that way. Also pretty bulky and wide, best to get Iron Masters for smaller form factor.

Like a mini barbell. These feel great. As a loadable DB it is one of the best you can get, but as an option for a DB, I would not recommend. Something with a more convenient weight change system is the way you should go. It is hard to get yourself to pay that much more, but trust me that waiting and saving up is very much worth it. Using these as your DBs will be a pain and will result in you doing very little DB work due to how long it takes to change weight.
