The Double Black Diamond™ power bar is REP’s top-tier powerlifting barbell with very aggressive knurling. REP was founded in Colorado, and the Double Black Diamond™ name references the steepest and hardest runs on the slopes. This 20kg (44.1lb) barbell features deep, mountain-style knurling to provide maximum grip for heavy bench presses and deadlifts, and center knurling to keep the barbell in place during back squats. It also has IPF-standard knurl markings to help you get into proper position for your lifts, and it features smooth sleeves for easy loading and unloading of the plates. This power bar has a stiff 29mm diameter, which complies with International Powerlifting Federation standards. Bronze bushings allow for consistent rotation, while ensuring incredible strength and stiffness to withstand heavy loads. In fact, this bar can handle up to 1,500lbs. The Double Black Diamond™ comes in six styles: fully stainless steel; a stainless-steel shaft with hard chrome sleeves; or a black, blue, green, or red Cerakote shaft with Duracoat® sleeves. Duracoat® is a chemical process that hardens the outside of the steel, making it more wear resistant than other finishes while also adding a high degree of corrosion resistance.

I love this bar, I got the stainless version. Most aggressive knurl I’ve used personally. Not super whippy, I can’t think of a way to improve it.

Had to snag this bar after testing it out at HGC. I think this is the perfect knurling on the aggressive side. It sinks into your grip without being overly sharp. I greatly prefer this bar over something like Rogue's Aggro 2x.

My favorite all around daily driver bar. I have it in full stainless steel and the build quality is fantastic! Sleeves are smooth with excellent tolerances. There is almost no slop, the spin is buttery smooth, and it's almost silent on drops. Rep has upped their game when it comes to quality control and included a signed QA sheet that includes actual sleeve measurements. It was shipped with a heavy‑duty tube with rubber end caps, foam‑protected collars, and plastic wrapping to keep everything pristine. The knurling is pretty aggressive (as marketed)! It definitely leaves some marks on your hands and does tend to chew up your J-cups. Overall, a great bar!

No complaints with the bar. I have the blue cerakote, and it is fairly sharp without turning your hands into Swiss cheese. Feels solid, just the right amount of spin, looks good.

Really enjoying this bar. I went with the stainless steel with hard chrome sleeves due to having a non-temperature controlled shed. I personally love the knurling, it's sharp enough where I get a good grip without chalk but not too sharp where it's hurting my hands. I have used it for squats and bench so far and have no complaints.

Purchased this on Black Friday and the main reason was that my wife and I worked out together but sharing a single barbell got old real quick. Waiting for me to finish benching because she had to deadlift wasn’t fun for long and so I knew I had to get just one more power bar. Saw good reviews on this bar especially for the knurl and coming from an Ohio Power Bar, I figured a little more aggressive knurling would be nice. Once I got the bar in hand and used it for my first workout, I was a believer. The fit of the sleeves on the bar was definitely a tighter tolerance than Rogues and you can tell from even sliding plates on them. Deadlifting with this bar was awesome too because it barely made any noise when the weights came down. The knurling also made it very nice to lift heavier weights and never chewed up my hands but it did leave imprints of the knurl. Felt more sticky as they say compared to my OPB and has now replaced it as my daily. I think for the price, Rep has got something good going on.

This is a fantastic barbell. Build quality and tolerances are excellent. The knurl is the best you can find in a power bar, though I haven't tried the fabled chewy bar. The high TPI mountain style makes it very grippy and feel great without being overly sharp. I went for stainless with chrome sleeves, which was a great value at $310 over Black Friday; but even at full price it's a great bar IMO.
