I got this from RPM fitness (yes the speed jump rope brand), I guess they discontinued this since I got it because I can't find it again. I stained it with my custom logo myself with a thin single layer of polyurethane. The rounded plastic edges are a blessing on my shins. I believe Abmat makes custom Roo boxes.

My custom DIY version of a plyobox has been laying a tractor tire on its side. This has been handy for power stairs training. Great value being free, but takes up a lot of space and not a lot of height options.

made these plyo boxes super sturdy by layering 2x4s. I cut each 2x4 to 24", overlapped them, and used deck screws to hold them in place. Then I placed a 24" by 24" piece of plywood on top and added some horse stall mats for grip. I'm a heavy guy and wanted to be able to use them and try different exercises. In the photo, I used the blocks for a make-shift row.

I built one with "scrap plywood" when I was doing crossfit. I've cut open one side, added a shelf and some drawers and us it for storage now.

I had a buddy build me 3 of these boxes. I have the ones that can be changed from 20 to 24 to 30" in height. I have piled plates on top and made this over 40" to jump on, no problem. I have had kids over 275lbs jumping on these with no problem.

I have two styles of homemade plyo boxes. The traditional rectangle, and a more pyramid style with a stall mat top. I do prefer the pyramid style, as they are more stable, especially outside on uneven surfaces, and are more forgiving if you miss. Both styles are excellent though.

Plyometric Box - Custom/DIY
Somewhat easy DIY project make sure you don’t cut corners when making one as that could end poorly. We had one 2017-2020 just didn’t use it enough to justify the space.
