SquatMax-MD

SquatMax-MD

The SquatMax-MD is a belt squat machine designed to deliver real squat strength—without the stress on your back, shoulders, or spine. Whether you're recovering from injury, training around pain, or just want to push your lower body harder, this machine gives you serious results with less risk. This vertical loading system shifts weight directly under your hips, activating the glutes, quads, hamstrings, and core—all with a natural squat motion. No barbell required. With a 1,000 LB weight capacity, the SquatMax-MD gives you room to grow. Add resistance bands and use the included transformer pin to customize loading angles and make your squats even more effective. A true 1:1 loading ratio keeps resistance consistent throughout the lift. That means better muscle activation, better control, and less strain mid-rep. Made with 11-gauge steel, this machine is built to last. It features a padded seat, rear transport wheels, and knurled handles for comfort and easy movement around your home gym.

I bought the titan version with the accessory set. I have 9' ceilings in my basement but think I could use it with lower ceilings I really like belt squats, have another pin-based belt squat setup along with pendulum and leg press. I use the included cover plate to squat with narrow stance and think that this is a good way to really feel this exercise in your quads. One thing that I've done to inprove my form is to move this machine next to my smith so that I can hold onto the smith bar as I squat, its the same height as the release handles. You'll see that in some of the review videos, any horizontal bar just above chest height will also work. Assembly was straightforward, I used a rachet to lower the steel platform down the outdoor steps to my basement. Assembly took only an hour.

I am big fan of the squatmax. I have the first titan version and bought it day 1 of release. As far as belt squat, this is one of the best I have used. It forces you to go vertical, something that can't be done with the cheap lever arm versions. I also think this is more 'dummy' proof than a cable version (ie rhino and similar) because with those versions if you aren't exactly vertical, they will pull you forward/back whereas squatmax is only vertical. Loading plates is obviously not fun but its not terrible either. I keep my plates right next to the machine to make it easy and I only use 25s to keep a closer stance. I do with the machine itself was a little smaller, 6" could probably be shaved off the front and sides as an smaller version for those without wide squat stances so it would take up less space. You can use this with voltra and bands. I do not own the extra attachments this comes with so can't speak to them. I use for belt squats and somersault squats. I've not used a better set up for somersaults, this is killer. I do think its a bit overpriced and think the belt squat market is due for innovation (ie BPF option and more). Overall though I think this is a great machine for those looking to fully replace squats.

I had this belt squat before I got my rogue rhino. This is my 2nd favorite belt squat (behind the rogue rhino) My main complaint is that you need to use the narrow plate attachment and then a bunch of 25s and/or 35s to load up for narrow stance belt squats, which is the primary variation I do The left handle also had a bunch of play, which I guess was just a Titan QC issue I do recommend this belt squat to people (especially if you can find it for cheap), I just prefer the rhino

I bought mine used and reached out to the owner, mine was made by Rogue back in the day, it was a bucket list equipment for me. I made little ring spacers out of scrap wood to put in-between the plates to help load and unload.

The Titan build quality is actually pretty good. A lot of people will tell you the Squat Max feels the most natural of all the belt squat machines, and there's an argument to be had for that. However in my experience, the loading of weights sucks, the versatility (while better than before) is not on par with others, and the owner has been known to go off on people who don't think his machine is the best.

Best thing from Titan as far as I can tell. If you like squatting and want to unload the spine this is the piece. Never liked lever based belt squats and cable ones I always felt were just ok. Perfect for a home gym with the head room as the foot print is small and it is not a plate hog like the pit shark.

I'm seeing a lot of good reviews about what Titan is offering and how well-built this Squat MD is. This might be my go-to.

I had written off Titan a few years ago after being disappointed in the quality of their offerings. This product, however, restored my faith in Titan’s ability to produce good products. Assembly was a bit tricky and hopefully the instructions that I received have been improved! Make sure you have enough ceiling height before purchasing this. I have 8-foot ceilings and I’m 5’10. I think if I were much taller I might have a problem banging my head into the ceiling. This is a very good addition to my home gym!
