Had a bare steel boneyard Ohio bar for a minute. It had very passive knurl, maybe the most passive knurl on any Rogue bar I've used, including the Bella. Hopefully that was why it was in the boneyard. I believe their cable attachments also use Ohio bar knurl and those are much better than the ohio bar I had. Probably a good bar if you're not strength training.

Great bar. The first barbell I purchased for my gym in 2021 and it has held up extremely well. I'm only knocking build quality down to 4/5 because it rattles rather loudly if you drop it, though that never really bothered me. You can't beat this quality for the price.

I owned this version of the Ohio Bar during covid and it did the job, not as well as a bare steel power bar from Rogue, but a solid choice. The one thing about the black zinc is that it slightly dulls the knurling - not nearly as bad as ecoat or cerakote, but it does take away some of the value of buying a bar with volcano knurling as the coating fills in a little of the volcano. My choice if you needed to get yourself a black colored power bar by Rogue, would be to get a black oxide bar. It will wear out over time (the oxide, not the bar) but it feels closer to bare steel. This bar was more of a value when it was $285 but everything has gotten more expensive.

This was my first barbell and in retrospect investing in a proper power bar would have been a better use of my money, but this is still a great bar. The knurling is excellent if a bit passive, machining is well done, the sleeves spin well (especially for bushings), only the black zinc comes off over time but that's to be expected. The lack of a center knurling is a bit annoying for back squats but nice for front squats, so it evens out.

Rogue Fitness The Ohio Bar - Black Zinc is a great bar and I bought it because I knew that Rogue makes good quality bars but after buying it I learned that so does Rep Fitness and Texas Powerbars and many other companies.

An amazing general purpose barbell, we love to use this for front squats since it doesn't have a center kurling and the kurling it does have is pretty passive. Also the smaller diameter of 28.5mm feels better then a 29mm power bar sitting in the front rack

Just bought one for my sister who’s starting a home gym and I’m pretty impressed with how the bar felt overall. May need to add one to my collection in due time !!
