USA Olympic Plate

USA Olympic Plate

Continuing our mission to bring quality cast iron plate production back to America, Rogue’s USA Olympic Plates are, in our opinion, the finest series we’ve ever developed. Each plate, from the 55LB increment down to the 0.25LB change plate, features a slim profile, durable E-Coat finish, and a unique 4-surface machining process that ensures it fits securely on the bar, is uniform in diameter, and sits flush against other plates when loaded.

I have only change plates of these to go with my deep dish plates- naturally I needed everything to match. I really like the all black look and the smooth back. I was actually expecting them to get more scratched, but they have been holding up pretty well in the first several months that I've had them. No complaints here.

I bought these as change plates 10 pounds or less to use with my deep dish 45s. They are thin, pretty and work well.

I struggled to decide where to land these in performance, I think it’s really dependent on intended use. The change plate size is great, but the 45s can be a bit challenging to grip or pick up off the floor when flat. On the other hand, if you need maximum room on the bar or using a plate loaded machine they can be great for loading up while taking minimal space.

I bought these just because I thought they were cool looking and made me feel like a big boy deadlifter! Also they let me fit more weight on my leg press since my regular plates are Rogue Deep Dish. I love that they are Made in USA. I went with the 55 lb plates just because I thought they were cool which messes up 30 plus years of plate math. I would buy them again.

These are some of the cleanest made in USA plates there are. Hard to handle due to their thinness but closest to made in USA calibrated you can get.

I bought these as soon as they came out because I needed a very thin plate for my Squatmax MD. These fit the bill and that is my primary purpose for them. For some odd reason, change plates took forever to come in stock. Now that I have a full set, my son really likes using them. They’ve got the same problem that all of the ecoat Rogue plates have - the finish on the back of the plates scratches off really easily and that’s pretty annoying. They’re not the grippiest, because Rogue’s ecoat is slippery. If you’re on the fence between these and say, Strength Co, go with those instead of these.

Really tempted to pick up some of these in addition to my calibrated plates from them, but having a hard time justifying the price

While they look nice and are USA made these are annoyingly thin and way too over priced. At that point it’d make more sense to invest in actual kilo plates

I was tempted to go all in on these plates, but decided to go with the deep dish plates and use the change plates from this set. I stand by my decision, but these look so clean. Rogue has essentially changed their calibrated lineup to match this design so someone on their design team must think so as well. I do find the black on black a bit bland so I use a white paint pen to fill in the numbers. About 3 coats is what you need to do. It is a lot of work and they will eventually chip, but a touch up here and there and they will be good to go. One thing that drives me crazy about these plates is they have a .25 listed, but I have not seen that thing go on sale for 3 years. I look more than I care to admit. I have a pair of all the other change plates and have a full weight tree, plus added horns. Like I said, it is silly, but I would love to complete my set!
