Back in March, I made the switch to REP for the centerpiece of my gym: the power rack. After nearly 10 years with my Rogue RM-6, I had very high expectations for whatever came next. The PR-5000 has exceeded them. The build quality is outstanding, the rack feels incredibly solid, and the overall versatility has honestly made training feel fresh again. Adding the Smith Machine attachment opened up a ton of new training options from hip thrusts and calf raises to more controlled pressing movements. Smith incline bench has easily become one of my favorite exercises on this setup. What’s impressed me most is how customizable and functional the entire system feels without sacrificing stability or quality. REP really nailed the balance between innovation and durability here. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the switch. The PR-5000 has been a major upgrade for my training, and it’s made me appreciate REP as a brand even more.

The build quality on this thing is excellent. It genuinely feels like commercial-grade equipment, not just another “home gym” machine trying to look premium. Everything feels solid, stable, and built to last. I was also lucky enough to grab mine during a 25% off sale, so from a value standpoint I really can’t complain at all. My only real critique is the footplate design. The size of it is actually a huge positive — plenty of room for different stances and foot placement but the angle felt a little awkward to me at first. I did get used to it after a few workouts, but once I added a Torque wedge, the machine completely clicked for me. That upgrade honestly took it from “really good” to “this thing is staying in the gym forever.” I can’t personally call it a perfect 5/5 out of the box since I felt the need to add another accessory to get it exactly where I wanted it, but overall I’m very happy with it now and have zero regrets about the purchase.

I was skeptical at first especially with the $100 price tag, but what you get is worth it imo. It comes in 3 pieces, the main flat piece that holds the hooks, 10°, and 20° wedge. It also comes with an extra pair of even grippier tape that can be swapped with the existing tape it comes with. You can use this on so many exercises and machines. I personally use it for squats, lunges, leg press and as a hip thrust foot platform. The ROM it made possible for me was surprising, I didn’t expect it. Highly recommend.
