I’ve had this machine for a few weeks now and after a handful of workouts I’m genuinely impressed. I previously owned the Temple of Gainz V3 and before that I had a Titan plate-loaded machine. I’ve been searching day and night for a seated leg extension/leg curl option that was within my budget, and this has thankfully checked all the boxes. The range of motion is smoother, and the steep seat angle feels much, much more comfortable and natural. I could immediately tell the difference with this being a 1:1 machine. Not that that was super important to me but it happened to come with this piece and now that I have it, I dig it. When comparing the leg extension to the seated curl, this machine really shines with the extension. The leg curl does its job but the strength curve is a bit off with the heaviest resistance coming at the bottom of the movement. Nevertheless, I still get an amazing stimulus in my hamstrings and if you do slow eccentric/concentric reps, your muscles are going to BURN. I don’t know if having the Titan plate loaded machine for several years made any difference in my evaluation because I really enjoyed that machine and this weight-stack version feels very similar to it. Assembly was a DREAM compared to most of the other machines I own. All the pulleys were preinstalled, the cables were already routed and I just had to connect a few pieces. It took less than half the time I expected. Pricing was the cherry on top. This was originally going for $2,899, which I wasn’t interested in at all but Titan recently marked it down to $2,499. I worked a few angles and managed to get mine for slightly less than the original $2,200 out-the-door price, so for that, I’m ecstatic. The build quality is solid, and I feel confident it will last.
Lastly, and very important to me personally, my wife LOVES this machine. She was indifferent about the TOG piece, but once I got this one in and she tried it, she said, “We’re keeping this one. I love it.” Wins all around.
