Recently received the V3 open trap bar. Initially after purchasing a pre-order did not realize that the specs had changed. Bolt on handles instead of weld (mega negative), longer sleeves (mostly positive), slightly higher weight (55lb). The assembly was annoying and sketchy. Three bolts hold the very heavy sleeve on and the narrow gap to feed the sleeve onto the bolts while holding a heavy awkward bar made the assembly unnecessarily. These bolts I've also had issues of bending for the safeties of the Fringe Bob. The biggest issue after build is that the jacks literally do not work. Due to slop tolerances between the bar and the sleeve, when installing bumper plates the jacks do not contact the ground so loading and unloading is like a regular barbell but due to the shape of the trap bar and it being extremely unbalance coupled with spinning sleeves, the bar will rotate and guillotine on its own loading plates. I tried multiple locations all over my floor, found a completely level area and could not load plates with the jack. Looking back at Fringe's site you can actually see the jacks are not in complete contact to the floor either. Extremely disappointed with this version that folks should be aware of and avoid until another version as this size and build quality should be cheaper than other trap options but is sadly in the ballpark on price as well and in my mind, doesn't work as advertised......also the knurl only exists on the high handle and is extremely passive.
