I like this bar a lot. It is a quality weightlifting bar. The sleeves have very little slop. They spin well. The knurl is good. And it is black; a rarity for weightlifting bars. I lift weights recreationally and do train the snatch and the clean and jerk. I am not good enough at either lift to be meaningfully competitive. I am just on my own journey. But for those lifts, 3-4 days a week, I train with this bar. I also have the American barbell ss comp weightlifting bar (as a point of comparison), but I basically just use this one because it has much better knurl. Build quality is similar between them. The rogue bar has more noise when you spin the sleeve or drop it, but I think that is just due to the type of bearings that were chosen. Both bars have tight construction with a similar amount of play (not much) in the sleeves. This bar has a looser spin. On the cerakote coating: I think it holds up well as long as you are not using metal on it. If you are squatting out of J cups without a plastic liner, cerakote is probably not the right choice. But for platform work or for use with lined J cups, I think it is a good coating. I think black zink or black oxide show wear much faster than cerakote.

This is an extremely well built with extremely passive knurl. American Barbell needs to put more aggressive knurl on it in order to make it worth buying. You will prefer to use poorly built rattly bars over this one just because they have knurl that actually counts as knurl. So, as it currently stands, spend your money on any other bar because the knurl on this bar sucks that bad.

This is a top tier rack with some features that are really appealing. The only downside to this rack is cost. But if you have the money, this is a fantastic piece of equipment. As a company, Sorinex does not cater to the home gym. Their bread and butter is facility outfitting for collegiate and professional athletic programs. Because this is their business model, selling a single rack to a home gym is not cheap. For this reason, I cannot give this rack all 5 stars on the value front. I debated between 3 and 4 and settled on 4 for the reason that this is a one time investment. What this rack is is a rack that will fit right in in a collegiate or professional weight room. A fairly typical layout in that setting is a row of racks or half racks with platforms. In a home gym setting you are looking at one of those. And you can squat, deadlift, bench, overhead press, Olympic lift, etc. safely with as much weight as you want with that arrangement. The XL series half rack is a bit shorter than their base camp series, which will fit into many home gym spaces (do measure first). People of anywhere close to normal height will find the XL series to be tall enough. Downsides aside from cost: No laser cut numbers standard as of 03/2026 (they will add for an upcharge). This is a non-issue for me, but some people want the numbers. Neutral features: Inline holes as opposed to offset holes. This does not matter functionally but it is something to be aware of because once in a blue moon an attachment requires offset holes. Upsides: 47" width. For folks powerlifting with the bars with narrow barbell sleeve collars, this is a really useful feature as most racks are 2" wider and thus 2" more likely to hit your plates as you walk out a squat. Sorinex makes quality equipment. This rack is no exception. From a performance and build quality perspective, I cannot deduct stars. If you have the money and want what this is, get it.

This is an awesome curl bar. It is way too expensive to justify for almost everyone. At the end of the day, it is still a curl bar.

Different runs have different knurling. My copy is not passive. It may be the best power bar ever made. But it is damn hard to find and damn expensive when you do. This bar places the plates about an inch further apart than most bars do---about the same spacing as the old school Texas power bar. Maybe this is useful if you don't want to hit your uprights walking out a squat. Pretty inconsequential for most people otherwise. They use a mountain type knurl. At least that is what is on my bar. Again, different runs have different knurls so there may be variability there. My version has knurl that is a little less aggressive than a Texas power bar, but not by much.
