I had ordered a custom RML-90SLIM from rogue with textured charcoal powder coat, laser cut numbers, and full 5x7 welded bases on the uprights instead of the standard 3x3 polymer upright base on the normal RML-90SLIM. It’s insanely good. There’s room to squat & bench (flat & decline). There’s barely enough room to incline bench but your bench could make or break this possibility. I highly recommend the stringer and crossmember option. Rogue also allowed me to upgrade ti all black zinc hardware. Be aware that if you do a “custom” option you will basically individually order all parts/kits. If I could make one critique, I wish the lag bolts that attach it to the wall were longer for more durability/security. They are only 2.5” and I feel like they should be 3-4” long.

I agree that this should have come with the bench. It’s over priced for what it is, but it is built very solidly.

The build quality of the shackle is very high. The included SMC Force carabiner Rogue uses sucks. It’s not smooth around the edge, not oval shaped enough, and doesn’t have a flush closing gate. These cause it to bind up in the shackle hole for anything that might require the carabiner to articulate much. Wish I went a different route solely because of the carabiner.

Perfect, exactly what I expected, takes up minimal space. If I could change one thing, I’d extend the sleeve length just barely until the bar was 35lb instead of 30lb. This might let you sneak one more plate on each side, but for a compact home gym where you’re prioritizing space and maneuverability, it’s great!

These are so well made, which makes it a shame that they don’t hold my plates as steady as I hoped they would. The plates seem to wobble a bit even with these pressed in as tightly as possible and locked down. If sure it could just be the plates, but if I’m gonna use a collar that is as tight as possible I wish it took up less loadable sleeve length. I wish I got the lockjaw flex instead since it’s thinner.

I would say that the only other comparable weight plates to these are the urethane coated XMasters, which are slightly more in price per lb. These are slightly thinner and you’re supporting a small US business. The quality was better than I was even expecting. The beveled hubs on the 45s and 25s are nice. Expect a little wobble of the plates due to their thinness. Also the lockjaw collars that Weight It Out recommends are not the best option in my opinion. They don’t hold these plates in as well as I think much thinner collars would, yet the collars take up almost twice the sleeve space of a 45lb thumper plate.
