29mm Stump Bar

I bought the Stump bar to use in my VTS Lite. Overall I think this is a great bar for home gyms because its much easier to maneuver. I probably should have gotten it originally vs a standard size barbell, especially for people that deadlift with a trap bar or DL bar. This bar is nearly identical to the ohio power bar, just shorter sleeves. It has Rogues 16 TPI knurl which I would rate as OK since I prefer a smaller but sharper knurl. The version I have is SS shaft and black matte sleeves and was a boneyard pickup that I got for $250. Build quality is good, its better the my v1 OPB and Ohio bar whose sleeves will rattle - this bar is much more silent when dropped as rogue has much better tolerances now vs in the past.

Was tired of being careful with my OHP in my small space. Finally grabbed this when it came up in the boneyard. It’s expensive for what it is but the boneyard price was fair and the quality is top notch. If I’d seen this in person earlier I would have paid full price for it immediately. 5 stars for value since I didn’t pay full price.

I use this in my basement gym. The space is set up so I can use a 7 foot barbell, but this is much easier to work with. Using iron plates, I never exceed the sleeve width. It is also a bit of a mental challenge as the bar is 30 pounds and my brain is conditioned to do plate math with a 45 pound bar. Rogue build quality is legendary and the knurling is excellent.

This bar is VERY well built like most Rogue stuff. It’s the shortest rackable short bar on the market that I could find. 30 lbs power bar, Knurling is sharp and aggressive, silent when dropped, don’t think there’s a better short bar. Most used bar for all lifts under 300. I can fit max 3 bumper plates on the bar, so it maxes out around ~300-330 lbs with standard bumpers due to sleeve length. Definitely need steel/iron if going heavier. Biggest downside is the cost. It is pretty pricey for what it is, but it’s also Rogue. I spent 2x more on this bar than my Rep colorado short bar (warehouse sale). It does, however, provide me and my wife to have more peace of mind in our tight space and makes maneuvering around the rack way easier.

I have the boneyard version of this bar, and other than the different end-cap stickers, you could have fooled me that it wasn't just a normal brand-new bar. The knurling is amazing on this bar. And the tolerances are great too. Side-by-side with a 20KG Rogue Ohio bar (5+ year old bar), this Stump bar is WAY quieter when dropped. Not that it matters that much in use, but it just shows off the better tolerances Rogue has for their bars these days. Performance wise, I have no issues with this bar. It's great for my smaller space, and I wish I would have bought a shorter sleeve bar like this from day 1. I have thin plates anyway, so the short sleeves don't really hold me back. Of course the other factor there is I'm weak as hell (or at least not strong as hell), and don't plan on beefing up as much as I'd need to in order to use all the sleeve space anyway, so this bar will have me covered for life. Yeah it's 15 pounds lighter than the standard power lifting bar from Rogue, but I still think it's a great deal at $350 new. And the $250 price for boneyard was well worth it for the $100 savings.

The stainless stump bar is the most used bar in my gym. The knurling has a great sticky feeling, and the short length makes getting around it in my small bedroom gym way easier. The sleeve will just barely fit three deep dish plates with a lock jaw mostly on the bar.

These are the same high quality standards you’ve come to expect from Rogue, but shorter sleeves that are a great fit if you don’t have a lot of room in your gym and don’t want to bang into your walls.

Perfect, exactly what I expected, takes up minimal space. If I could change one thing, I’d extend the sleeve length just barely until the bar was 35lb instead of 30lb. This might let you sneak one more plate on each side, but for a compact home gym where you’re prioritizing space and maneuverability, it’s great!

Can’t say enough good things about this bar. Stainless steel 29mm shaft with a nicely aggressive knurl of an Ohio power bar, but in a truncated package. It’s about 68.5” long, which I prefer shorter bars that I use everyday - to more easily maneuver in and out of rack in a tighter space. Its shorter sleeves hold plenty of weight for the daily grind. When going heavier I use a full size bar or just conveniently pull my calibrated ATX plates off of the wall.

Perfect for home gyms. If I'm not loading a bunch of plates or if I'm doing barbell work with my VTS, this bar is my go-to. Super easy to move around for anyone with tighter space constraints.
