When I bought this I was new to the home gym world and wanted the best. This half rack single stack fits my space perfectly, is very stable, and does a lot of things well. Rogue is known for made-in-USA quality, heavy and overbuilt, excellent construction, everything fits the first time. I can attest to all of that. Furthermore the communication with them, the shipping process, and the packing were all excellent. Some of the holes in the uprights do have sharp edges, and the J cups have painted pins. I'll probably upgrade them.
I bought the shrouds more for storage than to enclose the hardware. The single stack configuration provides 2 panels inside the rack for storage and that has worked out well. However the outer portion of the shrouds included an adhesive backed foam liner which rapidly became entangled with the pulleys and cables. I jettisoned those, and after a bit of work with goo-gone, everything is fine.
The 3x3 frame is industry standard, but if you are looking at this configuration, be advised that the cable routing occupies quite a bit of the front-to-back crossmembers. I wanted to use a Darko barbell anchor but it won't fit (at least not without modification). Also you cannot add storage panels or crossmembers across the back because of the weight stack & cabling. I suspect the twin stack might give you loads more options across the back, at the expense of side storage.
I'm keeping this rack and enjoy using it every day. But if I was starting over I might look at the twin stack or the FM-6. Omitting the Rogue functional trainer and going with 3rd party options - like Dialed Motion and Bulletproof - opens up interesting possibilities (Check out the Kev Cave). This technology is still evolving. Of course if you have room a standalone cable tower and a combo rack would be slick.
This package ended up being perfect for my space. Notwithstanding my comments, no regrets.
