I honestly don't know what the hell these plates are. They have a USA stamp on them. They also have grips. But they're not anything I've seen anywhere and the internet is silent on what the hell they are. I paid $1/lb for them and they sit on my reverse hyper, so they do a thing like they're supposed to do a thing. But I'm not sure when they were made. I emailed Vintage Rob and he didn't respond. He's responded to me on other things, so who knows, maybe he doesn't know either. I'll keep them, given they're doing what they're supposed to do. Oh, and they're double sided, more's the mystery.

I have a pair of 20kgs that I've restored. I love the look of these.
They are mildly warped. I'm not sure if that was how they were made or if it is an issue from their previous owner neglecting outside them for years.
They weigh slightly less than 20kg

Expensive option new. I’d find some old milled instead and call it a day.

Mine are at least 20 years old. Just had to refinish due to rusting after being in non climate controlled environment. Again, I am not sure how you can say weight plates do not perform. My only issue would be is if you are getting new ones off the site, I had flaking issues of the paint and no longer have those so, if buying new, I would spend same amount elsewhere, if buying used on a discount, they are fine.

Hubs are a little loose. On par with a lot of imported plates, but more expensive

I only have some lighter change weights of this style. They're just fine but on the pricey side for cast iron.

China made cast weights. They had way too much play on the bar.
