I filled my entire 3 car garage with these in 2018, I do not recommend these even for budget builds. When moisture is underneath gets slippery.

You have to rate these as what they are. They are cheap foam tiles that are an ok choice while you save up for something else. Now that I’ve replaced mine with stall mats, they live behind my DB rack as knee/lumbar pads for various exercises.
They dent/rip permanently and easily. I found they don’t stay interlocked well, but there is a decent hack. A layer of these under a Tractor Supply 1/4” rubber mat makes a nice, durable stretching area.

They're cheap and easy to rip. They deform if there is any weight left on them for any length of time. I made the huge mistake of buying these for gym flooring when I started out. It didn't take more than a few weeks to recognize how truly awful these things are to have around. If you have a baby who needs someplace to crawl and flop down on and around, sure, get these. If you lift weights, get your drawers on and go buy some stall mats because these don't do a dammed thing. Oh, and they're dangerous to use for like stretching, since they pull apart like a cut pizza.

I picked these up back in the day in my old house for flooring on top of carpet inside of a guest bedroom. Was renting and didn’t want to invest into anything too permanent. Now they’re used for my kids playroom.
Pros:
Soft and lots of cushion
Comfortable to lay on
Cons:
Shift around when used
Some vary in thickness, causing uneven surface
Indentations left from heavy equipment
Buy again? No, there’s definitely better options.

If you aren’t lifting heavy on them they really aren’t that bad but are very cheaply made and don’t sit very well. Just spend the money on stall mats

The stuff works but easily gets "memory" from equipment left on top. It will help protect the floor from small stuff, but wouldn't count on it if dropping any heavy deadlifts or equipment.

Not in my gym per-se, but we had in basement when we had pieces downstairs. That these stayed out in the basement says my opinion. Great for stretching, maybe yoga, a base layer with tumbling mats over the top, etc. Not good barbell lifting flooring - will mar, will mark, all equipment would leave indents. Made sense to stay in basement and be “play room flooring”

Had a bunch of these. Worked well. Protection was ok, but really not made for dropping weights on.

I have a decent section covering the floor in my gym. I wouldn’t do any lifts on them. It’s nice to stretch and do core workouts on this over the stall mats.

My review is specifically for the 3/4 foam puzzle mats that are the identical height at a 3/4 stall mat NOT the thinner mats other people are reviewing under this item.
I have about 250 square feet of my gym flooring made up of these, they are specifically in a warm up / stretching section of the gym I didn’t need stall mats in. Much cheaper and easier to modify than a stall mat but I have to stress only talking about the thicker 3/4” ones. These somewhat match my existing diamond plate stall mats.
These have held up great for my intended purpose.
