Ohio Deadlift Bar

Ohio Deadlift Bar

The Rogue Ohio Deadlift Bar is one of our finest, precision-engineered power bars to date, generating a higher amount of flex ideal for deadlifting. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the ODB features a 190,000 PSI shaft with a comparatively thin diameter (27MM) and longer overall length (90.50" is just within most powerlifting federation standards). This combination creates a bar that’s both easier to grip and designed for increased whip/flex when pulling. For many power lifters, that greater flex means being able to pull from a higher point before the plates break off the floor, potentially increasing the amount of weight that can be lifted in the process.

I finally switched to a deadlift bar when I started experimenting more with hook grip, and I'm glad I did. The smaller diameter and more aggressive knurl feel more comfortable in my hand for deadlifts. I prefer bare steel bars, and being in a dry climate has meant no trouble with oxidation on this bar. I'm not much of a barbell aficionado and haven't used any other deadlift bars, but this one feels great to me.

I have a power bar that I previously used for deadlifting, switching over from a stiff 29mm bar to a 27mm bar with extra whip feels like a cheat code. The grip Isn't overly aggressive (I understand it's preference) but has a good bite. I considered a Texas DL but I always hear mix reviews on it.

I had this barbell in my gym for about a year (couldn't pass up a good deal), until I traded it for a texas deadlift bar This bar is less bendy than the texas and the knurling is a tad less aggressive in feel It's a good barbell, but I personally prefer the texas. I'd also rather just deadlift with an Eliko power bar or something similar than a rogue, because I want either the whip of a texas bar or no whip, not something in between, like the rogue

Great bar, slightly stiffer than Texas but it's matter of taste. The knurling is also slightly less aggro but still super grippy, no problems. If you train on this bar, you'll be fine to switch to Texas on meet day and maybe be better off for it. Having full knurling is a bigger drawback IMO since you can't slide in a jack/rack as easily as the Texas. Cost wise I think it's right there with Texas so take your pick if buying new.

Great Facebook marketplace pick up, I like to use this bar to bench on my rogue rack less chance of bumping the rack

The knurling is great. The bar gets the job done, but I wish it had a little more whip seems too stiff.

Recently purchased a boneyard bar from Rogue based on Gym Radar reviews. After 1 session, absolutely loving it. Whip is definitely noticeable once you get over 180kg (coming from a regular power bar). Knurling is pretty aggressive and the thinner diameter feels awesome in hand.

Very nice deadlift bar. I got the cerakote in red to match the gym color. The knurling is fairly aggressive but not ridiculous.

The Rogue Ohio Deadlift Bar is an absolute game-changer. I was lucky enough to score this one on Marketplace for 300 bucks from a legend while I was visiting Sydney, which is a massive win. After deadlifting with a standard power bar for years, the thinner 27mm shaft and that signature whip make pulling heavy much more fun. The knurling is grippy and seems bigger than the OPB, yet it's so comfortable that I’m yet to even use chalk on the heavy lift days. It lets you get a better grip and that bit of flex off the floor before the plates even leave the ground. It’s easily one of the best deadlift bar options in Australia and a permanent favourite in the rotation.
