This is a surprisingly versatile hook. I bought 2 of these to hold collars, and found that they do a great job of holding my barbell out of the way when I’m not using it. My rack is a lighter gauge steel, so they do wobble a bit, but I stuck a thin magnet inside the rack to add some tension and it worked great.

For a space the size of mine, there is not better flooring option than horse stall mats. I didn’t even have to offgas mine, as they had been stored outside at Tractor Supply. I don’t have a dedicated platform, but these mats have worked well enough to protect my floor and plates.

This bar is my favorite thing in the gym. I went with bare steel, and after 3 years in my garage, it looks great. Excellent, aggressive knurl. I can’t imagine a better bar

I was lucky enough to have these thrown into a FBMP deal for next to nothing. They are are solid, satisfying but heavy collar. They are my strongest holding collar, and just have a very cool vintage feel.

I use this fairly regularly and have had the wheels come loose a couple of times before I added my own thread locker. Great, versatile tool.

I have no complaints. This is a rock solid rack that holds most of my plates. I like that most of the weight is transferred to the floor rather than the wall. If you mount it to a stud, you’ll have to make a small stringer based on the size of the wall mounts.

I followed the instructions that are easily found online, but learned that pipe has since gone way up in price. I used the 2 piece Azzsmuk shaft collars from Amazon. As the schedule 40 pipe is slightly narrower than 2”, I used an industrial 2 sided tape under the collars before I clamped them down, and it’s held very well. Added paint, which scratches like crazy, but I still like it. I’ve beaten this thing bad, and it has held up. Still, it’s not any cheaper than just buying an axel.

I bought these exact collars from BoS on Amazon (directly from BoS’s store on Amazon) and I received what’s either a way-too-tight collar that looks a little different from the ad, or a pretty decent axle collar.
