Honestly for what these are, I have minimal complaints. They are a fair price, they are comfy to wear and they seem durable. The Velcro is strong enough to support my working weight on the cable system. My wife uses them a ton with her friend and they are a great way to get some variability for leg day on the cheap. The reality is that it is so hard to find new things to do on leg day, but I will lay face down on my bench and hook into my cable stack and do leg curls. I know some people do standing leg curls too but I prefer the lying curls. It’s also good for taking your grip out of certain lifts, but I don’t use it much for that. It’s not the best if you wear short socks, like it doesn’t feel as good sitting right on your skin, but if you got some longer socks then it’s not a problem.

Since I have the BoS light commercial rack (2.3”x2.3” uprights), these were the only option for weight horns on the rack. Otherwise, I would have needed to mount them on studs or have a weight tree. They have the typical bad welds from BoS, but they are functional. The sleeve is smooth so it won’t scratch up your plates. They are sturdy and work great for holding up Olympic weights. I can fit 5 45lb urethane plates on one sleeve. If you have a 4-post rack you will have to be mindful of the 45lb plates that are stored on the rack when you are bench pressing. But that’s more a problem with only having a 4-post rack.

I didn’t even know this was marketed as a pull up bar- I have always used this to hold my legs down for lat pull downs. I have that pad that slides right over the bar and brace my knees under it for lat pull downs. It works like a champ for that purpose. For pull ups, the bar would not be the best due to the lack of any texture on the bar. The welds leave a little more to be desired, and the pins are alright- would be nice to have mag pins or something. About what you would expect for a BoS product- it gets the job done.

This is the BoS straight bar that I got with the BoS light commercial rack. It’s super basic, has rubber grips, and has mid welds. I don’t actually use this bar much anymore- it just doesn’t feel as good on the wrists as a lot of other cable attachments that I have. It gets the job done, but there are better options.

These are the BoS safety straps for their light commercial rack (2.3”x2.3”). I personally prefer safety straps over the bars since they are quieter and softer on the barbell. It’s also what I used at my commercial gym before I got a home gym. It’s easy to move them up and down, but it will take a little longer than those safety bars that slide up and down on the nicer racks. The welds are not as clean as Rep and Rogue, but I have complete confidence in these straps and they have held well over 250lbs…as well as my boy jumping on them from time to time.

I originally got these in a set with 5lb, 2.5lb, and 1.25lp plates but my normal set of plates had 5lb and 2.5lb increments so I sold those other Everymate plates and just kept the 1.25lb set. It is a little discolored and I haven’t checked the accuracy of the weight but I’m sure it’s close enough. They fit pretty tight on the barbell but it still slides on. They do exactly what I need- when I’m between weight I just throw these on and it keeps me moving on the progressive overload train.

I found the blueprint for these from some redditor in the home gym community when the Reppins came out. I hate picking up dumbbells from the ground- this makes it so much easier to cradle the dumbbells at the end of a set. It’s super sturdy and it holds the weight easily. I have no worries about it tipping over. It’s a pretty cheap option, especially when you consider the other options. I could probably put it on some caster wheels, but I haven’t had the need to move it around. The black widow stand looks sick and way cleaner, so this takes a couple hits on the star rating. The dumbbells are secured to the 1x6 boards with bolts. I cut the four 4x4 legs to a height that felt comfortable for racking the weight (remember to consider the height of the 1x6 boards and cradle. The 2x4 pieces at the bottom and top of the stand that connect the two dumbbells requires some patience on figuring out the angle that works for you. I just tried to see what angle felt comfortable for racking the dumbbells and went with that. I used pocket hole screws for a cleaner look, but I think it might be the only option to connect those 2x4 pieces. I added a piece of wood to hang the changer plates. I also added the eyelets for resistance band work before I had a power rack that I could use to support the band work. Best decision for the gym!

I built a 10 degree wedge and a pair of 15 degree wedges using some scrap wood in the garage. I threw some extra paint I had and bought some grip tape from Walmart or Amazon. Maybe someday I’ll get the real thing, but these are super comfortable for incline squats. I also use them for split squats…notice that I didn’t say those are super comfortable since split squats are always awful 😂. I watched some YouTube videos and there are quite a few examples. But I basically used ply wood and made an angle (ChatGPT helped me figure out how to get the angle I want). Then I put screws through the top- try to use short screws and you will probably miss a couple times- no big deal. Then I added a 2x4 underneath to give it support and just drilled in to secure to the board. Pilot holes might help you out a bit. Works great, and it’s holding up fine! I’m sure someday they will break down- maybe.
