Probably the best value sled on the market. For the cost, this is of surprisingly high quality. I own equipment from more than a dozen different companies and the packaging is the best I have seen. So hats off to whoever packages these products. I am also really impressed with the powder coat. In fact, the powder coat, assembly process, and even the hardware it came with are top notch. This sled punches well above its weight and I highly recommend it.

I love my PR-4000. It is built like a tank, highly customizable, and fits my Athena perfectly. If I could go back in time I probably would opt for the 5000 instead. I love the Westside spacing but Rep seems to have a higher focus on their 1" ecosystem rather than the 5/8". Plus, more non-Rep attachments fit the 1" holes. That said, this thing would survive a nuclear blast. If you're not always looking for the most random rack attachments, and Westside spacing matters to you, this is a no-brainer.

Functionally these things are AWESOME. Smooth as butter. My only real gripe is they feel cheap. They have withstood some fairly aggressive workouts but it's hard to get past the "plastic toy" feel of them. Even an upgrade with knurled handles would go a long way. Other than that, I still highly recommend them as they blow most, if not all, other D-handles out of the water.

I think some folks struggle with the cradle and getting the tension just right. It seems those who struggle tend to overtighten it. I must have gotten it right because I have never had an issue with it. I did buy the upgrade kit for peace of mind since it has the longer pop pin. I didn't want to worry about one of the micro-adjustment plates falling off and smashing my face. I'm not Brian Shaw so I never worried about my knuckles hitting the weight adjustment pin but I know that was a struggle for some folks. Luckily Rep addressed the former with a free upgrade kit. I really dig the knurled handle, "cage" design (good for overhead triceps extensions), and overall durability. For the price these are at least in the top 3 adjustable dumbbells on the market.

The hip pad should be a few inches further up (towards the head, not the feet). I had to have my butt and half my back off the bottom so that the pad wouldn't hit my thighs. Adjustments parallel to the back pad would fix the issue but the pad can only extend out and in. When I could find a position that wouldn't be obstructed by my thighs, the movement became entirely hip flexor -- no real glute engagement. In order to "salvage" it, I removed the hip pad, bought a Spud Pillow Hip Drive Belt, painstakingly fitted it onto the machine, and now it performs just like every other hip thrust machine with a belt. One thing to also note: I have assembled dozens of machines over the years and this was by far the most infuriating. It's, like, 7 pieces total or something. On paper it should have taken 30 minutes. It took nearly four hours because the tolerances were overly tight.

For the insane price I would have hoped for a better range of motion. The crossbar the handles attach to should be convex to allow a little extra ROM. That said, the weight distribution options make this a piece unique to Prime. Unique enough to spend $4K on? Not in my opinion.
