Upgraded from horse stall mats to these when I moved houses. I debated between 1/2” and 3/8” for a while, but decided on 3/8” since I’ll be deadlifting on a platform and using crash pads for olympic lifts. So I think these will be just fine. I went with blue and grey fleck and they sure do POP! It immediately made my gym look much nicer. My whyfe even commented on how good it looks.
Installation was a piece of cake. The hardest part was moving my rack and other equipment around. It took me exactly 3 hours to install 60 tiles (about 240 sq ft) in my garage. Fortunately I didn’t need to make any odd cuts, so that sped up the process. I only needed to cut the edge and corner pieces. I went back over the tiles and pressed on the seams the next day- now they are hardly visible. There was a very slight odor when I opened the boxes, but that went away after a few hours. Recommend fresh razor blades, a straightedge, and rubber mallet for installation.
The ordering process was easy and the shipping cost was surprisingly reasonable from North Carolina to California. Code MASS saved me a few dollhairs too!
