First, the positive- easy to put together, doesn't take up much space, compatible with lots of different racks. With the kickstand you can start at the top of the movement, and if you have the dual weight horns you can fit quite a bit of weight (depending on your plates, obviously). The Swan Neck also is handy for upright storage assuming you have a place to leave it.
The bad is that I cannot figure out a way to use this thing that doesn't make my knees hurt. This might be my form or position or something, I'm not sure I can blame the mammoth. I have never had the opportunity to try any other belt squat either, so I can't say if it's the lever.
It seems to work great for a lot of people so my suggestion would be to try before you buy somehow. And definitely either get it used or wait for Fringe to run a sale, which they seem to do constantly.
