It’s well built and an excellent open trap bar I wouldn’t pay full price for it, but in the $300-400 range used would be good value It feels stable for heavy deadlifts, the knurl is great, and it feels well balanced when deadlifting or doing lunges with it

Love the built in jack, paid for the love handles that rotate which is awesome but put them on once years ago and never used them again as you have to bolt them on and off, great quality, lead time was 20+ weeks but I guess that's one of the many reasons Kabuki is gone now

I’m not a big trap bar guy. Typically I don’t fit in them and I’m not even that huge a dude. Having 28” between handles made me finally use these things. Like that it has the jack ability built in, balance isn’t as good as advertised but not something I notice when lifting. Fat handle is great, skinny handle was too skinny so I swapped it for a mutant metals piece and now it’s great. Believe it or not, I was one of the strength coaches that badgered them into making these with an option for the 28” spacing so that people over 6’ had plenty of room.

Bought it, loved it. It's overbuilt and heavy, and you can lift any weight you need to with it. Never had an issue with unbalancedness, just grip it like a half inch off centre of the wide grip if you really worry. My second favorite usage is doing seal rows with it on an incline bench (tho you could do that with any open trapbar design). The knurling on the handles is top knotch, and your skin will let go before your grip itself. Only downside might be the steel feet digging into any wooden platform. But those are made to be used and repaired anyway. My favorite purchase from Kabuki.

This thing isn't balanced. Cue the prissy lunatics who "need" a balanced open trap bar or they can't lift or some shit. C'mon man. This is beefy, with unbelievable welds, gorgeous sleeves, and interchangeable handles that have knurling that will get your little fella going if you let it. Too bad they couldn't run a business. They made some incredible products.

I haven't had any issues with this bar and will keep it around. I don't use a trap bar enough to justify trying out other options, and I kind of like having something that's not as easy to come by now.

Not a fan of this one despite it being one of the first widely available. It's loud, clunky, and often times not very balanced feeling. Other brands do it better for less money.

This bar was purchased at the height of the pandemic, as a blemish bar. So firstly, I felt lucky to get it. Secondly,I enjoyed a discount (and other than a little scratch on one sleeve, there were no other blemishes that I could discern). As far as the exposed metal feet, I never had issue with those marring up a platform since my deadlift platform has always been 2” rubber tiles. It was between this bar and the Eleiko because I needed a shorter length Trap bar to be able to have ceiling clearance to store it vertically in a barbell holder. The lack of balance with it tipping was never an annoyance to me vs. the properly balanced Eleiko trap bar. I configured this bar with the narrow brackets, one set of stainless steel handles and the other with a set of the rotating handles. I rarely use the rotating ones. Kabuki’s knurl is great on this bar. It is very expensive so the “value” goes down (compare it to the very capable REP open trap bar in cost)

I don't typically find myself using a trap bar very often for training, but the few times I have I tried this bar and found it pretty useful being able to tip in onto the side for loading/unloading it. I know a lot of other trap bars have high handle options as well, but I liked them on this

The main issue I have heard about this bar is quality control between units. From my experience it was a great quality bar that was manageable to move around. The rep open trap bar is one of the most common out there and it is massive, heavy, and a pain to move. Kabuki did a great job on feel, simplicity, and making it something that could be moved around and stored in a home gym. These can be expensive if you find it on the used market. Rep is still probably the go to since you can buy it new for a great price.
