About the Gym
Basic Basement Gym is a finished suburban basement gradually overtaken by an unreasonable amount of strength equipment. The centerpiece is a REP PR-5000 six-post rack with an Ares 2.0 cable system and Smith attachment, dual voltras, surrounded by enough barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, benches, cable attachments, specialty equipment, cardio machines, and mobility tools to eliminate nearly every excuse except operator error. It is primarily used for hypertrophy and strength training, with some golf-specific work, conditioning, mobility, and ongoing attempts to rehabilitate whatever body part is complaining that week. It may not resemble the elite lifting facilities elsewhere on Gym Radar, but it allows one late-to-the-game suburban old man to train hard, overanalyze every exercise, and struggle in complete privacy.
