Cable Compound
About the Gym
This the fourth iteration of my garage gym over the last 20 years. My three prior gyms were gifted to others in need of a gym (and so I could make changes). This is a relatively new gym for an old lifter (and likely my last). It was planned, purchased, and assembled starting in 2024 after overcoming a profound health challenge and being inspired by so many of your gyms and others. It’s not quite done but it's getting very close (even though you only need a few basics to get strong). The compound is a curated (mostly) cable gym that is set up in a single bay of a three car garage. Despite the relatively compact space, the gym is designed with stations for super sets and giant sets so I can get my workouts done conveniently. I have tried to maximize space by choosing equipment in a vertical orientation and placing the equipment to take advantage of every square inch. I have plans to do more with the space in the same footprint. The floor space is tight but it's not really needed when you’re doing a lot of cable work. I love not having to move weight far and I especially love only having to move a pin.
