I absolutely love this unit. I have it paired with the Nighthawk bench. Extremely easy to set up, simple to move, and solid.
What I like:
1. Leg extensions are amazing. I wasn’t sure I’d like not having a back, but it’s not an issue.
2. Simple to move. Whether attached to a bench or standalone, it easily moves around the gym. Way less footprint than the used commercial unit I had previously planned to purchase.
3. Strength curve is consistent, and paired with my Ares 2.0, it’s amazing. I haven’t tried plates or bands, so won’t comment on consistency there.
4. Overall adjustability lets you set exactly where rollers fit you.
What could be better:
1. It’s well documented the default config can hyper extend knees. For me, I had to add a block to hold the starting position about 1.5” out. I also leave the cable to my Ares 2.0 a little slack. Combined, they let me get into positions for leg curls without hyper extending. Neither is a showstopper, but given the price, I wish there was an adjustment built in to compensate for this.
End verdict:
I love this unit. I have been able to adjust for every criticism. While I wish I didn’t have to, it wasn’t hard, and having this unit really has been great for the gym.
