I bought the BoS light commercial rack off FB marketplace for a cheap price. So naturally, I got the BoS cable attachment. It opened up a lot of options for lat pulldown, low rows, curls and tricep extensions. It attaches easily and performs as expected for a budget cable system. It feels relatively smooth for what it is, although if you don’t have the same weight on each side of the horns then it gets really mad at you. Buttttt, the absolute biggest oversight and worst thing about this system is that the exit point for the top pulley is behind the crossbeam of the power rack, which causes the cable to drag significantly on the top cross beam, which limits movements like face pulls and single arm chest flies. This limitation alone makes me want to upgrade my cable system, and inherently my rack sooner than I otherwise would have.

I have found DMoose to be a sneaky good brand on Amazon and the dip belt is no exception. The belt has a lot of surface area on the pad and is able to be easily adjusted to sit on your lower back for movements like dips and pulls ups. It’s comfortable to use and has proven to not slip around during movement. The carabiners are on the cheaper end but you can easily swap out the carabiners for better ones. The only other belt that is somewhat interesting in this category is maybe going with a leather belt, but feels like an unnecessary upgrade. It’s a good price- get it!

Honestly one of my favorite cable attachments ever. Yes it is expensive, but man it feels so much better on certain movements like shoulder raises, chest supported rows, chest flys, etc. It spins like a mad man and seemingly has no limitations or gritty movements. It is so fluid and naturally follows your hand movement. Maybe one day I will get those stainless steel grips (although super expensive), but I really enjoy the rubber grips especially working out in a shed since it’s not metal (metal gets cold in the winter).

I had tried the Rep Fitness Barbell pad and various other solutions to make hip thrusters less painful. But they all sucked! This is an AbMat product, but got it via Rogue to hit my 3 items ship free. The hip thrust pad is pretty darn near perfect. The material feels heavy duty on the exterior and distributes the weight well with what feels like a curved hard plastic. It’s $50 which seems high initially but it honestly just makes hip thrusters so much more bearable. My wife loves it and I’m sure we will get more AbMat products, like the rotater hip thrust pad.

I bought the whole slew of these attachments on Amazon and split up the attachments with my brother in law. The original MAG grips (American made) are significantly more expensive. Although I have never used the MAG grips, these BLUSLM seemingly look and feel the same. They have great texture and feel solid in hand. They create natural positioning for your hands and remove your grip as the limiting factor in a lift. A tip to save money is that you can easily use the pronated attachment as a supinated attachment so no need to get them separate (ie don’t get a supinated close grip and a pronated close grip since they work both ways). I personally have a close grip, medium grip, and wide grip and that’s all I need!

I haven’t had the chance to use a higher end barbell yet (Rogue or Rep), but this feels just as good if not better than anything I used in a commercial gym. I use it for everything and have no problems with it. The coating on the sleeves is wearing off but the coating on the actual barbell is holding up fine. I bought it about a year ago off FB marketplace. I will always keep the bar around as a beater bar once I upgrade my barbell in the future. But could be perfectly content with this barbell forever if I had to.

The Bells of Steel bench is solid and likely could last my entire lifetime. It has a basic ladder system and even has a decline option that I use for low rows. The pad has the nicer material that is firm but not too firm and isn’t slick like cheaper benches. The bench is fairly light at 55lbs and wheels around easy enough. The bench is a reasonable price at $300, but I got it off FB Marketplace for significantly cheaper. I wouldn’t buy it at full price given that it doesn’t have a port for attachments and there are benches that are relatively close in price for a higher end quality (think Rep Fitness). It also doesn’t truly store upright, which is a pain at times.

This is a 2.3 x 2.3” rack with 5/8” holes. Unfortunately, you are locked into the Bells of Steel (“BoS”) ecosystem due to the unique size. Although, BoS has plenty of attachments and they are very reasonable in price. The rack has west side hole spacing, which is great for locking in the safeties and J cups for the bench area. I also have confidence in the rack- it feels sturdy and I enjoy the rope safety straps. I got this rack off FB Marketplace, so I got it for a steep discount- I would recommend going with another rack, but it gets the job done.
