This 2002 Louie Simmons original reverse hyper is the real deal. No frills, just built to make you stronger. The swing is smooth but unforgiving. It’s got that old-school Westside feel you can’t fake. I’ve made a few minor mods to keep it practical. 3D printed foot pad risers so it takes 45s on the weight horns, fresh bike grips from a local shop, and swapped the bottom bolt for a hitch pin to quickly change from the roller attachment to a reverse hyper strap. It’s surprisingly versatile too. I can sit on top for leg extensions, use the roller for lying leg curls, clip on a triceps strap for rows or face pulls, and of course run it as intended with roller or strap for reverse hypers. Newer machines might look nicer, but they don’t have the same history or character. This one works.
